Get to know Anastasia

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Everyone has a story yet most people never feel heard or understood. I have always had a natural tendency to want to understand people and their adaptive and maladaptive tendencies. More importantly I have found for it to be my life work to offer a place where they can grow from understanding themselves.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I have vast experience in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Any client who needs support.

What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?

That it is ok to feel stuck.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

Their mission to create easy access for people to receive counseling.

What inspires you?

How despite life's difficulties, people are resilient.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Establish comfort with one another and an understanding of what brought you to the session.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

The key to success in therapy is within the therapeutic relationship. Establishing a positive working alliance is extremely important.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

That they don't mind a little humor during sessions.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

Yoga and travel.

What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

Integrity and kindness. (I know that is two!)
