Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I needed to be a part of the movement to break free from cycles of trauma and addiction. It's the most meaningful work out there in my opinion.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I am most effective working with motivated individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and do "the work". But if you're feeling unready or unsure, I will be just as happy to work with you!
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Young adults and emerging professionals. I am excited to help individuals navigate intimacy, independence and identity issues.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
Ambivalence is a stop on the pathway to change. If you're feeling "on the fence" about something, even therapy itself, this is the place to talk about it!
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Being able to work as a remote therapist is my dream job and Thriveworks has made that possible!
What inspires you?
Resilient people who are committed to breaking the cycle!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Questions about what brings you here today and how I might be able to help. I'd also like to get a brief history on the big items like family, health, lifestyle etc.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
My greatest accomplishment will be making sure you feel seen and heard and a dash of hope is the icing on the cake.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
There's a lot to cover in the first session so I tend to keep my small talk short and sweet.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to travel, hike with my dog, practice yoga and dance as much as possible.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm a creative mind and spirited soul.
