About Alisa
I am a master’s level counselor with 4 years of experience in the mental health field. I work with individuals navigating trauma, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, substance use disorders, and personality-related challenges. I take a person-centered approach and strive to create a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel respected, understood, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
I earned my master’s degree in psychology counseling from Lesley University. I am trained in trauma-informed care, exposure-based techniques, and other evidence-supported approaches. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I thoughtfully tailor treatment to each client’s needs, goals, and readiness for change.
You do not need to have everything figured out to begin therapy. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next steps, I am here to support you in building awareness, emotional stability, and healthy coping skills at a pace that feels right for you. When you are ready to begin, I am ready to walk alongside you.

"As a person-centered clinician with a multicultural background, I focus on creating a calm, nonjudgmental space for individuals working through different challenges."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My original intention was to serve Asian and multicultural communities like my own. But after becoming a counselor, I came to understand that many people—regardless of identity—struggle quietly with trauma, anxiety, stress, and loneliness. This experience expanded my perspective and strengthened my belief that everyone deserves a safe place to be heard and supported.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I connect well with clients who want to grow and better understand who they are. Some are looking to strengthen their confidence or self-worth, while others are searching for clarity and direction. I especially enjoy working with individuals who believe healing is possible—even if they feel unsure where to begin.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
You don’t have to know exactly how therapy works before starting. All you need is openness and a sense that something in your life deserves care. Therapy is not about fixing you—it’s a space where you can explore, learn about yourself, and steadily heal at your own pace.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Our first session is simply a conversation. We explore what brings you in, what you’ve been carrying, and what you would like to feel different. The early stages of therapy are about building safety and trust while learning how you experience the world. From there, we can begin shaping a treatment plan that truly fits you.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Growing up in multicultural environments taught me that people often carry invisible burdens. This shaped my belief that therapy should be built on respect, understanding, and curiosity rather than judgment. I value patience, emotional safety, and helping clients reconnect with their own voice and direction.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by first listening carefully to each client’s concerns and reasons for seeking help. I take time to understand their goals, pace, and what they hope to change. From there, we work collaboratively to choose methods that fit their needs rather than forcing a rigid treatment model. Therapy is most effective when it follows the client’s voice and priorities.
