About John
I am a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist (LMFT, LCAC) with 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups navigating mental health concerns, addiction, family dysfunction, blended family dynamics, trauma, and life transitions. I also support children, adolescents, and adults facing men’s issues and major life adjustments.
I earned my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Friends University. My approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, the Gottman method, and emotionally focused therapy to help clients build healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and process trauma in meaningful ways.
Seeking help is not always easy, but taking that first step shows courage. I strive to meet you where you are and work collaboratively to help you create meaningful change and reach your personal goals. I look forward to hearing from you

"With 30 years of experience in mental health and behavioral health across a variety of settings, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my work, helping those seeking meaningful, lasting change."

Teens, adults, and couples.

That it takes time and follow through with the clients.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session I begin to build the therapeutic relationship and ask a lot of questions in order to identify problem areas and help them set goals for their therapy.

I have been in recovery from my own substance use disorder for over 30 years and grew up with some childhood abuse and divorced parents. My family history is one of poverty but believe in working hard and leaning on each other for support.
