Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor after spending a year as a teacher, where I quickly realized that many of the struggles my students faced had little to do with academics and everything to do with what was happening outside the classroom. I saw bright, capable kids weighed down by anxiety, grief, trauma, and unstable home lives—challenges that no lesson plan could fix. That experience sparked a deeper calling in me to support the whole person, not just the student. I wanted to be someone who could help untangle the emotional and mental burdens they were carrying, so they could thrive both in and out of the classroom. That’s what led me to counseling, and it’s a passion that continues to drive the work I do today.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are ready to take an active role in their healing—those who believe in helping themselves and are willing to put in the work it takes to grow. Therapy is a journey, and while I’ll be there to guide and support each step, real change happens when clients are open to exploring who they are, uncovering their own worth, and holding on to hope, even when it feels distant. I’m drawn to working with people who are curious about themselves, motivated to face their challenges, and committed to building a more grounded, authentic life.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who come into therapy with an open mind—those who are willing to explore new perspectives, sit with discomfort, and remain curious about themselves and their experiences. An open mind allows space for growth, healing, and meaningful change. It doesn’t mean having all the answers—it simply means being willing to ask the questions. When clients are open, engaged, and ready to challenge old patterns, that’s when the real work—and transformation—can begin.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that there is hope for everyone—no matter how heavy life feels or how long you’ve been struggling. Healing isn’t always quick or easy, but it is possible. You are not broken, and you are not alone. With the right support, willingness to grow, and belief in your own worth, change can happen. There is always a path forward, even if it’s hard to see at first—and I’m here to help you find it.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice at Thriveworks because of their commitment to flexibility, both in scheduling and in supporting a true work-life balance. As someone who values being fully present for my clients, my family, and myself, it was important to find a place that honors that balance. Thriveworks makes it possible for me to do the work I love in an environment that encourages well-being—not just for clients, but for clinicians, too. Ultimately, I chose Thriveworks because I wanted to work somewhere that aligned with my values and allowed me to be happy, both professionally and personally.
What inspires you?
What inspires me most is life itself—the way it constantly offers opportunities for growth, healing, and connection. I’m deeply moved by hope, even in its smallest forms, and by the resilience I see in my clients as they take steps toward change. My children and family are a daily source of motivation and joy, reminding me of the power of love, patience, and presence. And the progress my clients make, no matter how big or small, continues to inspire me every day. Watching someone reclaim their strength and discover their worth is one of the most powerful parts of this work.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In your first therapy session with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where we’ll begin to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions to better understand what’s bringing you to therapy, what challenges you’ve been facing, and what goals you have for our work together. This session is all about setting the foundation—there’s no pressure to share everything right away. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, talk about what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and begin building a connection rooted in trust, safety, and collaboration. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In the first therapy session, we’ll accomplish important groundwork that sets the stage for your healing journey. Together, we’ll clarify what brought you to therapy and explore your current challenges and goals. This helps me understand your unique story and what you hope to achieve. We’ll also discuss how therapy works, what you can expect moving forward, and address any questions or concerns you might have. Most importantly, you’ll begin to build trust and feel safe in the therapeutic space—a crucial step toward meaningful growth. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of the direction we’ll take together and feel supported in taking that first step.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling a first session, clients should know that I approach therapy with genuine compassion and a strong belief in your ability to grow and heal. I value collaboration and will work alongside you to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and goals. I’m committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your challenges at your own pace. While I’m here to guide and support you, I also believe that meaningful change requires active effort and openness. If you’re someone who’s ready to do the work and open to new perspectives, we’ll be a great fit. Above all, I’m here to help you find hope, clarity, and resilience on your journey.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality moments with my family, diving into a good book, playing video games to unwind, and soaking up the calm and beauty of nature. These activities help me recharge and stay grounded, so I can bring my best self to the work I love.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One non-professional thing that defines me is my love for adventure—whether it’s exploring new sources of natural beauty, trying out a new game with my kids, or simply embracing the unexpected moments life throws my way. It keeps me curious, energized, and open to growth both inside and outside of therapy.
