About Provider

About Kelly

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional, with 40 years of experience helping individuals, couples, families, and groups work through life’s challenges. Over the course of my career, I have supported clients facing depression, grief and loss, anxiety, trauma, addiction, codependency, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and life transitions. My extensive background also includes career development, employee assistance program services, crisis intervention, and critical incident debriefing.

I earned my Master’s in Psychology from Southern Illinois University. My therapeutic approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, humanistic perspectives, and family systems work. I also draw on training in Internal Family Systems, addictions, spiritual psychology, and breathwork to guide the healing process.

I believe therapy should empower people to grow, heal, and live more fulfilling lives. My style is warm, collaborative, and respectful, with treatment tailored to your unique needs. Taking the first step toward change can feel overwhelming, but I will walk beside you on the path to creating a life filled with greater balance, resilience, and joy.

Get to know Kelly

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I want to be a part of the transformation of people healing, and growing into their own agency and happiness.

What types of clients do you work best with?

People committed to change and who possess the integrity to own their behavior, healing and agency.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Great change is possible with honesty, openness, a willingness to prioritize and work for it.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

You will be heard. You will have a safe place to share your feelings and thoughts. You will identify your goal. We will become partners in change and identify the strengths you bring, the resources you will need to support you and identify ways I can assist you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I believe all people are worthy of respect and support. I believe you know yourself best and are completely capable of change and that we can co-create a way to do so.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I listen to what you tell me. Therapy goals are developed together and should be changing as you and our therapeutic relationship grows and changes. As partners in change everything is created through our unique relationship and within the safety of therapy sessions. We will review progress and goals every session to adapt and modify so that the plan stays relevant.
