About Gloria
Gloria Wright is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 25 years in the mental health field. She specializes in working with adults to meet their therapy goals. She works with clients at their comfort level to help improve their quality of life. Gloria’s ideal client is one who is motivated or receptive to making the changes needed to improve their quality of life. She specializes in anxiety, depression, substance abuse, stress management, self-esteem issues, and life management. Gloria has also provided services in multiple settings including residential, community mental health and in home counseling.
Gloria has a Master’s of Health Science with a specialty in Addictions Counseling from Governor’s State University. Gloria utilizes an eclectic approach with her clients, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, along with other treatment modalities.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a counselor because of my desire to help others. I have always received positive feedback about my ability to empathize and provide practical solutions to problems.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients who are motivated to change or willing to be motivated to make changes in their life.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with clients who are open to suggestions and are willing to make small changes to achieve big results.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that there is always hope.

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the success stories of clients who started with little or no hope of achieving their goals.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I would like to establish trust so that they feel welcome and comfortable sharing information.

They should know that I am dedicated to helping them find a way to overcome their obstacles.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to binge watch my favorite shows. I also like to shop, decorate and work in my garden.
