About Anna
Anna Jain is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Chicago with over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. She works with adults and youth experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment issues, difficulty concentrating, procrastination, loss, and more. She was previously a school-based therapist, helping families strengthen their dynamics. Anna also worked as a caseworker helping families experiencing domestic violence, homelessness, and other crises, deepening her understanding of the structural and societal factors that impact mental health.
Anna earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago. She's a compassionate, strength-based therapist who values active listening and understanding your perspective. She uses unconditional positive regard and dialectical behavior therapy, which builds skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and relationships.
Anna loves working with people in all stages of life, and whether you're ready to dig deep or just know you want change. Starting therapy takes courage, and she honors that bravery. She provides a nonjudgmental space where you’ll be met with compassion, not shame. Wherever you are on your journey, she is here when you’re ready.

"Everyone needs support at times, and I am here to meet each client where they are while working to capitalize on their strengths and achieve their life goals."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have always been an empathetic person and passionate about social justice. I realized working in the mental health field capitalizes on my strengths, and I am so grateful to get to do the work of guiding people in living a meaningful life.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I pride myself in being able to find a connection with and support any human being who is ready to open up.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Both adults and youth who are ready for change.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew that even on the hardest days you can still push through. Showing up is what matters the most. No feeling is permament. It is ok to not be ok, but everyone deserves to feel hope and joy.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like the flexible model for both clients and therapists alike, and I value their committment to making therapy accessible.
What inspires you?
Seeing progress in the folks I work with. Optimism. Sunshine. Tiny wins.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
The first session I will get a full picture of a client's situation, symptoms, and current mindset. Then I will work with you to make your goals for therapy and keep you accountable while also understanding that you have to go at the pace you are comfortable with.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
By the end of our initial session, I want to know what brought you to therapy, including the symptoms impacting your daily life, as well as any underlying or longer term areas of need. I want to continue to get to know you as our therapeutic relationship continues, and guide you in your healing and growth journey.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling the first session, I want clients to know that I am genuine and authentic. I’m ready to grow and collaborate with them on this journey.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
For fun I like to read, swim, travel, play tennis, and cook Indian food.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My love of learning defines me. I believe we learn something new every day and I never want to stop acquiring knowledge and growing.
