Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I decided to become a counselor when I experienced the therapeutic journey as a client. I was in university and started counseling due to some life transitions. My therapist was very supportive, understanding and I could tell her anything without feeling judged. As a result of this experience, I then wanted to do the same for others who needed help too.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In your first session, I want you to feel at home and be yourself. You can expect a safe space to speak freely knowing it will be held in confidence. In preparing for your first therapy session with me, think about what you want to achieve. Don't be afraid to ask questions and know that I am here to help.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In your first session, I want us to get a sense of what we will be working on and what you want to achieve from our time together. I want you to leave your first session feeling listened to, validated and comfortable.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
On my time off, I like to indulge in nature. Nature is where I feel the most at peace and calm. I also enjoy creating art and spending time with my best fur friend.
