About Shereka
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 16 years of experience supporting individuals and families navigating depression, anxiety, substance-use concerns, mood disorders, trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder. I also have extensive experience working with those impacted by traumatic events and substance-use history. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your emotions, deepen self-awareness, and begin healing with support that meets your unique needs.
I earned my master’s degree in community counseling from Argosy University. I use mindfulness-based and spiritually-informed approaches, along with dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused techniques. I work creatively and flexibly to tailor treatment to each person or couple I serve.
My goal is to help you piece together the parts of your life so you can move toward wholeness. I value open, honest dialogue because healing begins when we can acknowledge our pain without fear or judgment. Together, we can build clarity, foster resilience, and create meaningful pathways toward the life you want

"As a therapist, my goal is to assist clients in understanding how the past impacts today's behaviors, thoughts, and choices."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a licensed therapist because I genuinely enjoy talking to and helping others. I know that God called me to work in this field and I am walking in my calling.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open and honest about their struggles and are willing to listen to honest feedback, even when it is negative.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew about therapy and the healing process is that healing does not always feel good. Sometimes when healing, you become uncomfortable and it may even hurt, but the end results, are phenomenal.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In first sessions and the early stages of therapy, clients will develop a better understanding of therapy process and expectations as it relates to standard regulations, while also understanding the therapy process as I see it.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I know and understand that no two people are the exact some and that what works for one, may not work for the next person. With this knowledge, I create treatment plans and conduct therapy sessions strictly based on the personality and history of the person before me. I also allow God to speak to and through me as I converse with each client.
