About Kayla
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s most difficult challenges. My background includes providing psychotherapy in forensic settings and conducting emergency assessments for individuals in crisis. I primarily work with adults navigating the lasting effects of childhood trauma or struggling with anxiety, depression, or mood disorders. I aim to help clients uncover the roots of their pain, strengthen coping skills, and move toward healing and self-acceptance.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Kennesaw State University. My therapeutic approach is humanistic, grounded in empathy and collaboration. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and schema therapy to help clients recognize unhelpful patterns, build insight, and develop practical coping skills.
You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone; healing is possible. I’m here to walk beside you as you take that first step toward change. When you’re ready, I’d be honored to support you on your journey toward balance, growth, and self-discovery.

"As a Black female therapist, I value authenticity and connection, and draw on my personal experience to help others navigate life's toughest moments."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and helping them find meaning and healing through life’s challenges. I enjoy assisting people as they make goals and implement changes as a guide and cheerleader
What types of clients do you work best with?
Adults who are motivated to make changes. I have the most experience treating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar DO and personality disorders
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I want clients to know that therapy isn’t about being “fixed” by someone else—it’s about rediscovering the insight and resilience that already exist within them. My role is to guide and hold space for that process to unfold.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session and early stages of therapy, clients can expect a focus on building rapport and creating a safe, supportive space. We’ll complete an initial assessment to understand your main challenges, set collaborative goals, and identify and build on current strengths
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My experience working in correctional facilities taught me how profoundly environmental factors impact mental health and the critical role that community and family connections play in overcoming challenges. These insights guide my approach, helping me support clients in building meaningful relationships and resilience.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by first listening closely to each client’s story, challenges, and goals. We set collaborative goals together that inform my work with each individual client
