About Jay
Harold “Jay” Williams is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 9 years of experience in the mental health field. Jay is passionate about helping adolescents and adults address everyday stress, anxiety, and depression. He enjoys helping them learn to cope with these obstacles and walk alongside as clients overcome challenges. Jay has worked with a range of clients who have both mental and physical disabilities, he understands that everyone is unique with their own unique challenges and strengths.
Jay completed his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Psychology with a minor in Family and Child Development at the University of Georgia and his Master of Education (MEd) in Professional Counseling at the University of West Georgia. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Jay utilizes person-centered therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) along with whatever suits the client in their personal growth.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have always had an interest in listening and giving advice to others. It is very rewarding to help people overcome their struggles and reach their full potential.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I enjoy working with all clients, but I especially enjoy those that are motivated to work through things and are open minded to suggestions.

My inspiration is seeing others reach their full potential.

In the first session, I aim to make clients comfortable and ensure they know this is a safe and confidential space.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I hope to establish a relationship and understand the goals of my client.

Clients should know that I am a non-judgmental individual who is willing to help them work through anything.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to spend time with my family, travel to new places and watch the Georgia Bulldogs!
