Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a counselor because I have always had the personality of the "therapist friend." Coupled with my lifelong interest in psychology, it was a natural progression for me. My desire to help others feels innate and central to my being.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adolescents and young adults
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am most excited to work with adolescents, as I have a soft spot for that population, and they have been my primary focus over the last year.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients new that the point of therapy is not to "fix" you. From my POV, the point of therapy is to equip you with the tools you need to overcome your challenges, heal, and manage life.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose Thriveworks because I wanted to branch out and expand my expertise. I did not want to be pigeonholed into only working with one population/demographic.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by everyone every day.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
My first sessions are usually very relaxed and focused on rapport building, seeing how well we mesh, helping you identify your goals, and informing you of what my therapeutic practice generally looks like. Just expect a chill environment.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
By the end of our first session, I would like for the client to be able to identify their goals for therapy and to be able to tell me what they need from me.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Before scheduling with me, you should know that my clinical approach is strongly defined by my straightforward and honest nature. Once our rapport is established, I do not pull punches. However, it is always in the best interest of my client.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my leisure time, I enjoy watching anime, reading books, spending quality time with my loved ones, crafting, and hanging out with my cat, Nugget.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
One thing that defines me is my authentic nature. Lying or pretending to be someone I am not is very difficult for me as I see no point in doing so most of the time.
