About Provider

About Rachel

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 4 years of experience and a passion for supporting adults navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship challenges, mood and personality disorders, medical concerns, and substance use. My compassionate and collaborative approach is tailored to each individual’s needs. I have experience working with diverse populations, including sex workers, the LGBTQIA+ community, and individuals seeking gender-affirming care. Through a goal-oriented, solution-focused lens, I help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Barry University and have experience as a medical social worker and therapist. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, internal family systems, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness.

I believe everyone deserves accessible care that begins with connection. My goal is to help clients create lasting change by identifying their strengths and developing practical skills that empower them to navigate life’s challenges and reach their goals.

Get to know Rachel

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My decision to become a therapist was inspired by my personal experience, which deepened my understanding and compassion for others facing similar challenges.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I'm most excited to work with clients who are open to self-exploration and ready to engage in the therapeutic process. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are goal-oriented, curious about personal growth, and looking to build practical skills to navigate life’s challenges.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I also value working with clients from diverse backgrounds and communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals and sex workers, and providing an affirming, nonjudgmental space for healing.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish every client knew how inherently valuable they are and that they are fully deserving of peace, healing, and happiness.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose to work with Thriveworks because of their genuine dedication to delivering personalized care that truly honors each client’s unique journey.

What inspires you?

I’m deeply inspired by the stories and journeys of those around me, especially my clients, whose resilience and growth continually motivate me

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

During our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you and understand your goals for therapy. Together, we’ll also explore your strengths to create a personalized treatment plan and approach that best supports your journey.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My goal is for clients to feel empowered and confident in the direction of their therapy.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?

I strive to support clients by gently encouraging them to reflect on and change harmful thinking patterns and behaviors, rather than reinforcing them.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I enjoy spending time with my two dogs and cat, exploring the outdoors, and creative writing.
