Why did you decide to become a counselor?
During my earlier college years I have many desires and actually thought I would go in to music education. I decided to become a counselor because I really like helping people.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That just because someone needs additional support such as counseling it doesn’t mean they’re crazy. And also, that if you have mental health concerns it doesn’t mean anything bad just that you need to learn how to better manage your concerns.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
Thriveworks is an excellent company. They provide support to their staff and help us excel at our tasks and services. This allows us to be better providers and have any support we may need.
What inspires you?
My faith, and knowing that each day I have an opportunity to have a positive influence or impact on my immediate surroundings.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I like to get to know my clients through discussion and active listening as well as, understand why my client is seeking services and how I can best assist them by helping them reach their desired goals.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I look forward to building rapport, connecting and building a solid working relationship.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to read, music and art journaling even though I’m not an artist. I like to travel, hang with friends and game night is always a winner.
