Get to know Katherine

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I had lost my grandmother in college and had a difficult time acclimating to all the changes. I reached out to a therapist and found so much relief in this relationship. I decided at this point that I wanted to help others through their own journey.

What types of clients do you work with best?

I consider myself a Life-Span- Therapist. What this means is I enjoy working with all ages of clients. I really enjoy the tweens, teens, young adults, and all the way up!

What inspires you?

Art, nature, I see beauty in all things

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Clients can expect to meet an empathetic, nonjudgemental person who will partner with them to get through life's difficult times.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

To help them to understand that therapy is a safe space to talk about everything from past to present. To establish some goals of what they hope to gain through our time together and to get a good history of their lives and challenges they may have gone through.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I am a mother of two and a dog mom. I worked for the Veterans Administration for almost 10 years. I am a Life Span Therapist. I have worked with patients as young as 4 all the way up to 89.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

I love being outdoors and at the beach. I enjoy looking for treasures at estate sales and thrift stores.
