About Kaffie
I am Kaffie Wilcoxon, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with 24 years of experience helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. My passion for counseling grew from balancing my journey as a wife, mother, and grandmother while pursuing higher education and a full-time career. Over the years, I’ve worked with clients from all walks of life, providing support through transitions, hardships, and victories. My approach is rooted in compassion, respect, and collaboration, empowering each person to uncover their strengths and move toward their goals.
I hold a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Florida. My approach combines evidence-based practices with personalized strategies that respect each client’s unique needs and experiences. I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel supported and encouraged to pursue growth and healing.
I believe in helping clients achieve empowerment and self-satisfaction as they manage life’s demands. Whether addressing personal struggles, building healthier relationships, or overcoming obstacles, I am committed to guiding clients with care, encouragement, and the tools they need to thrive.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Kaffie decided to become a counselor because indivividual sometimes need an open- minded, non -judgemental professional to help them through life challenges.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with adults who are willing to work with the therapist to achieve their goals.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Kaffie is excited to work with any client who wants to work on the mental and physical health.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Kaffie wishes that all clients know that that they are capable of making good decisions and that they are just as important that anyone else.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I have heard from other therapist about the good reputation of Thrivesworks. Thriveworks allows the therapist to be a professional. Thriveworks also support their therapist and offers training and other support to the therapist.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by nature. Nature is resilient, forgiving, refreshing and renewing.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
During the first sessions, client will receive a welcome and introduction by therapist. Client will be able to ask questions about therapist and about their therapy.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The first session will be an introduction and about the therapy program. Therapist will perform an assessment and gather information from a converstion with client.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
Client should know that I enjoy helping others live mentally and physically well lives.
I am honest and non-judgmental.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, sewing and water activities.
I enjoy playing various games and learning the card game bridge.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
My spirituality defines me and keeps me centered.
