Hi, I’m Janae Thomas, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work degree from Florida A&M University. I support individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and life transitions. My goal is to create a compassionate, judgment-free space where you feel heard and supported. Together, we’ll build on your strengths, develop healthy coping skills, and work toward meaningful change, greater resilience, and a more fulfilling life. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and honor each person’s unique journey.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s needs. I use evidence-based techniques to help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions. Clients can expect a supportive, judgment-free space to build coping skills, strengthen confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change at their own pace.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and understood. I would be honored to support you on your journey toward healing and growth. When you’re ready, I invite you to schedule an appointment and take that first step toward a more fulfilling life.

"I believe everyone deserves a safe, judgment-free space to feel heard, heal, and grow, and I strive to meet each client with empathy, compassion, and an approach that honors their unique experiences, strengths, and values. "
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a counselor because I have a genuine passion for helping people navigate life's challenges and recognize their inner strength. My background in social work has shown me the importance of having a safe, supportive space where people feel heard, valued, and understood without judgment. I want to empower individuals and families to heal, grow, and create meaningful changes that improve their quality of life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, family conflict, and major life transitions. I enjoy supporting clients who want to build selfesteem, develop healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and find greater balance in their lives. I welcome clients from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a compassionate, judgment-free environment where each person feels comfortable exploring their experiences and working toward their personal goals.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process
I wish every client knew that healing is not a race, and you don’t have to have everything figured out to begin therapy. Growth comes with ups and downs, and progress may look different for everyone. You deserve patience, compassion, and grace throughout your journey, and taking the first step toward healing is something to be proud of.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can share your story at your own pace. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, personal strengths, and goals for treatment. In the early stages, we’ll work together to build trust, identify patterns, and develop practical coping strategies that fit your needs. My goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and comfortable being yourself as we begin your journey toward healing and growth.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, empathy, faith, and the belief that every person deserves to feel heard, valued, and understood. My background in social work has taught me the importance of meeting people where they are and recognizing how life experiences, family dynamics, and culture shape our well-being. I value creating a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their challenges, build on their strengths, and grow without fear of judgment.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by getting to know each client’s unique experiences, values, strengths, and goals. I use a collaborative, person-centered approach and incorporate evidencebased techniques to address each client’s needs, whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, relationships, or life transitions. I also respect each person’s cultural background, personal beliefs, and preferences to ensure therapy feels supportive, meaningful, and relevant to their journey.
