Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Psychology was always my first love, but financial restrictions led me to make practical career choices that did not require a master's degree, and thus my first career was in business banking for almost 10 years. After navigating the fast-paced and stressful corporate world, I transitioned to becoming a stay-at-home mother. My desire to parent my children to the best of my ability, along with a close family member's sudden and severe mental health issues, reignited my original passion for psychology and propelled me toward returning to school for a career change. For me, therapy is a deep calling, and I am deeply humbled and grateful to be able to serve in this way.
