About Provider

About Beth

I am a licensed psychologist (LP) with 23 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in a wide range of settings, including inpatient psychiatric units, sexual assault treatment centers, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. I specialize in supporting adults living with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, substance use concerns, and psychotic disorders, with a focus on helping each client navigate their unique challenges.

I earned my doctorate in psychology from Nova Southeastern University. My work is grounded in a cognitive behavioral framework, and I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs. While traditional talk therapy may be effective for some, I also incorporate humor, activity, and flexibility when those approaches better support engagement and progress.

I believe therapy should feel supportive, collaborative, and personalized. I look forward to getting to know you through the therapeutic process and helping you work toward meaningful change. Together, we will focus on practical strategies, insight, and growth—with a touch of lightheartedness along the way—to support your mental health goals.

Get to know Beth

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I first decided to go into the field of psychology in High School. I took an introductory class and knew that's what I wanted to do. At the same time, my best friend had just broken up with his girlfriend of several years and was experiencing depression with thoughts of harming himself. In helping him through this difficult period, I felt how rewarding this field could be.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I find that I can and have worked with a variety of clients. I can attempt to help anyone but I find that the best fit is when the individual is motivated to make change and is open to trying new avenues to facilitate that change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish everyone understood that the mental health healing process is just that... a process. Although treatment often terminates, the process should always be in progress. We never truly reach an endpoint where we can say "that's it, I'm finished."

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

I always try to begin the therapeutic process by getting to know my clients and letting them get to know me. Although there are some areas of my life that may not share, I feel that sharing as much about myself as is appropriate can help build the rapport that is essential in achieving goals.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

Every therapist brings a host of experiences into their sessions with them. Even when experiencing the same situation, we process them differently. I have been privileged to experience positives in my life including family and children but I have also suffered through loss and trauma. Each of these experiences can be expressed in a variety of ways to assist those who want or need help.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

In getting to know my clients, what makes them happy or sad or angry or anxious, I get to understand ways to relate to them. Whether through talking, walking, crafts or jokes, we can all find unique ways to relate.
