Why did you decide to become a counselor?
At a very early age, I was curious about how our minds work the way that they do, and personal experiences taught me the importance of having someone that you could lean on for support. Counseling was the right fit to explore both of these areas!

What inspires you?
My son, my husband, my mother, and watching people strive to overcome and rise from the struggles that they face and become the best versions of themselves!
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Learning what's bringing them to therapy, establishing the beginning of a connection and comfortable relationship, letting them learn a little about me and my style, providing a little intro into what therapy is and what therapy isn't, and having the chance to ask any questions that they may have.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
The client sharing an initial overview of what's bringing them to therapy, gaining some background about who they are as a person and their presenting concerns, letting the client tell me what they want to get out of therapy, and beginning to brainstorm and set some goals!
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
Play with my son, watch funny tv or movies with my husband, read, blog, and hang out with my family.
