About Teddy
I am a licensed professional counselor of mental health (LPCMH) with 14 years of experience supporting individuals through life transitions, trauma, emotional regulation challenges, relationship concerns, addiction recovery, and identity exploration. I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings and remain committed to creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, build resilience, and move toward meaningful healing and growth.
I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Immaculata University. My integrative, person-centered approach draws from cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior, and psychodynamic therapies, along with a trauma-informed lens, to help clients understand patterns and build skills for lasting change.
I understand how overwhelming life’s challenges can feel, especially when you’re navigating trauma, relationship struggles, addiction, or major transitions. You deserve a safe space where you feel heard and supported. My goal is to help you gain clarity, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want.

"As someone who has personally navigated trauma, loss, and the layered realities of intersecting identities, I approach this work with deep compassion and authenticity, offering a safe space where healing feels possible, your story is honored, and meaningful change can take root."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a therapist because I realized that helping others heal and grow is not just my calling — it’s my gift. Early in my career, I struggled with my own anxiety and life challenges, which led me to temporarily step away from counseling. Looking back, I understand that avoidance was a safety behavior that kept me from embracing the very work I was meant to do.
Through my personal experiences and professional journey — from leadership roles in a mental health nonprofit to working directly with individuals facing complex trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges — I recognized the profound impact that guidance, support, and genuine connection can have on someone’s life. Becoming a therapist allows me to share empathy, hope, and practical tools with people navigating difficulties, and to help them reconnect with their own resilience and strengths.
I am drawn to this work because I know, from both personal and professional experience, that healing is possible when people are met with understanding, compassion, and a safe, nonjudgmental space. Being a therapist gives me the opportunity to walk alongside others as they reclaim their sense of self, grow through challenges, and find meaning and empowerment in their lives

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that therapy is not about being “fixed” or perfect — it’s about growth, understanding, and self-discovery. Healing and mental health are processes, not destinations. It’s normal to experience setbacks, uncertainty, or resistance along the way, and that doesn’t mean progress isn’t happening. Every step you take, no matter how small, is part of building resilience, insight, and a stronger connection to yourself.
I also want clients to know that they don’t have to face their challenges alone. Therapy is a safe, collaborative space where you can explore your experiences without judgment, gain clarity, and develop tools to navigate life’s difficulties. Change is possible, and often it comes when we allow ourselves patience, compassion, and support.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In your first session with me, you can expect a safe, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space to share your story and what brought you to therapy. We’ll take time to get to know each other, explore your goals, and discuss any challenges you’re currently facing. My approach is collaborative, so I’ll ask questions to understand your experiences, strengths, and areas where you’d like support.
In the early stages of therapy, we focus on building trust, understanding patterns, and developing clarity about what you hope to achieve. Together, we’ll begin identifying strategies and coping skills that can support you in daily life, while also exploring deeper experiences or patterns that may be influencing your well-being. You can expect an approach that is compassionate, structured, and tailored to your unique needs, helping you feel seen, heard, and empowered as you start your journey toward growth and healing.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My personal experiences with anxiety, adversity, and life challenges have deeply shaped my approach as a therapist. I understand firsthand how overwhelming and isolating difficult experiences can feel, and I bring that empathy into every session. I strongly believe that all people are inherently valuable, regardless of the challenges they face, and that everyone has the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing.
These experiences and values guide me to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and respected. I approach therapy with compassion, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, helping clients explore their experiences, develop coping skills, and reconnect with their strengths in a meaningful way.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe that every client’s journey is unique, so I take an integrative and personalized approach to therapy. I draw from psychodynamic therapy, CBT, DBT, and an eclectic framework to meet each client where they are, using methods that best fit their goals, strengths, and challenges. Together, we identify what’s most important to you, explore patterns or barriers that may be holding you back, and develop practical strategies to support growth and healing.
My goal is to create a collaborative and flexible space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes. By tailoring my approach to your needs, I help you build resilience, gain insight, and navigate life’s challenges in ways that work for you personally.
