I meet the client where he or she is at. My approach is strength-based and I listen keenly with empathy. We partner to identify and work on the goals set by each client.

I work with clients by bringing warmth and positive regard to everyone to foster a therapeutic working relationship. I provide validation of their thoughts and feelings, recognizing the inner strengths they have. Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I grew up in a hospital environment with my parent working as a medical provider. I noticed that people seeking help did not only need medical treatment to heal but also emotional support that could help them feel better and even heal better. Also, being an inquisitive and a solution focused person, some of the physical illnesses could have been prevented at least if someone could be proactive to help explore preventive measures or minimize the impact of what an individual was going through. With compassion and empathy for others. I was passionate about what I could do to assist. I found my passion in the Social Work field and becoming a Therapist to assist others live their full potentials and help cope better with life's challenges. In addition, growing up, my aunt (who is of blessed memory), was a community development worker. I admired her work of helping individuals and the community access resources and services to assist them improve their lives through coaching and psycho-education. Like my mother, my late aunt was one of my role-models and an inspiration to me. I am passionate about helping others and see them be happy.
