Get to know Reilly

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

Having witnessed complex mental health issues in many loved ones, I developed an interest in psychology and pursued counseling. I wanted to utilize that interest in a practical and helpful way.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am excited to work with all of my clients! I am particularly excited to work with a population that is very diverse in age, background, and experience.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

The healing process is not linear. Highs and lows will occur on your path towards wellness. It is easy to become discouraged, but continuing to put in the work will help you thrive.

Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?

I chose Thriveworks because of its focus on being an accessible and holistic approach as a mental health provider.

What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?

My goal for the first session with the client is to identify the presenting problem and to establish a safe space for the client to openly express their feelings.

What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?

I am a recent graduate of a mental health counseling program. Although I am new to the field, I bring enthusiasm and compassion to every session.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?

On my time off I enjoy reading novels, watching movies, going to vintage or antique stores, visiting museums, and playing with my cat.

What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?

I appreciate the odd and quirky things in life. Whether it's in art, fashion, or activities, I love seeing expressions of uniqueness.
