About Rachel

I am a licensed professional counselor associate (LPCA) with 10 years of experience supporting individuals through meaningful change and emotional growth. I specialize in helping clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and life experiences with openness and authenticity. My background includes extensive work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, including individuals with special needs and those navigating behavioral or emotional challenges. Through a compassionate and client-centered approach, I help clients recognize strengths, build resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping.

I earned my master’s degree in counseling and human services from Post University and take a holistic, integrative approach to care. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, play therapy, and exposure therapy to help clients manage stress and build effective coping skills.

You deserve a safe space where you feel heard, supported, and valued. Healing takes courage, and you do not have to do it alone. Together, we will work toward clarity, confidence, and a more balanced life. I would be honored to support you as you create meaningful change and move toward the future you want.

Get to know Rachel

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I chose to become a counselor because I understand the importance of having a safe and supportive space to be heard without judgment. My own experiences helped me recognize how vital it is to feel understood, accepted and encouraged, especially when navigating challenges related to self-esteem, personal growth, and transitional stages of life. This insight inspired me to help others build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and create meaningful change in their lives. As a counselor, my goal is to foster a compassionate and empowering environment where clients can reach their full potential.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are open to personal growth, whether they’re ready to explore their thoughts and emotions or just beginning to consider change. I understand that everyone moves at their own pace, and I aim to meet clients exactly where they are. My approach focuses on building trust, identifying strengths, and creating a supportive, nonjudgmental environment that encourages progress in a way that feels safe and manageable. Regardless of a client’s readiness, my goal is to empower them to develop healthy coping strategies and confidence in their ability to create meaningful change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that healing is a journey, and it’s normal for it to feel challenging at times. Growth often takes consistent time and effort. Meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight, but each step forward—no matter how small—matters. As you keep showing up and doing the work with patience, openness, and commitment, the process becomes more manageable and you start to see the progress and strength within yourself. Healing isn’t about being perfect; it’s about growing, learning, and building a life that feels more empowering, balanced and fulfilling.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, my goal is to create a comfortable and welcoming space where you can share what brings you to therapy at your own pace. We’ll spend some time getting to know each other including learning about your background, current concerns, and what you hope to gain from therapy. In the early stages, we’ll work together to identify your strengths, explore patterns, and set a direction that feels both supportive and achievable. You can expect a collaborative and compassionate approach where you’re always met with understanding, respect, and encouragement.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My personal experiences have deeply shaped my approach as a therapist. I value creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I also prioritize empathy, patience, and collaboration, believing that helping clients recognize their strengths, build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies, and working towards meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for them.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy to each client by first understanding their unique background, experiences, and goals. I use a collaborative approach to identify strengths, preferences, and areas where support is needed. From there, I adapt my methods—drawing from approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, play therapy, etc.—so that interventions are relevant and effective for that individual. My goal is to create a flexible, supportive environment where clients feel empowered to make meaningful changes at their own pace.
