What types of clients do you work with best?
All I have ever asked from my clients is that they are willing to try. Whether that is to try to be open and honest or try to receive feedback and work towards goals not previously tried.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Therapy can be difficult and uncomfortable at times. It is important to have a working relationship with your therapist built on trust and respect to help you work through those times of difficulty. As a therapist, it is my job to gain your trust and respect.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I chose to practice with Thriveworks due to their dedication towards clients. I have been working as a social worker since 2017 and always become frustrated when companies become focused on numbers versus the quality of care given to their clients. At Thriveworks, they work with us to ensure we are able to provide quality care to individuals, couples and families.
What inspires you?
What inspires me has always been people's stories. Every time someone shares their story with me I feel honored. Throughout my time as a therapist I have witnessed change and individuals meeting their goals. Each time I am able to witness someone attaining their goals
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
In a first session with me people should expect to be able to ask questions. Yes, the first session is an intake, but I want people to feel as though they are also interviewing me. Making the decision to start therapy is a difficult one and people should be comfortable asking questions and getting to know their new therapist to make sure they are a good fit.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In a first session with an individual I want to start forming trust. Successful therapy is completed when the individual and therapist have trust and respect in their working relationship. In my first sessions with an individual I want to lay the groundwork for creating trust.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
What I want clients to know before scheduling with me is that I am just a person. I have training, experience, and knowledge to help guide you to reach your goals as equals in this working relationship.
