About Josey
Josey Politowicz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience. She has worked with adolescents and adults living with stress, trauma histories, substance abuse issues, and various mental health issues. Josey also has experience working with active duty and veteran military, their dependents, and those struggling with addiction. Before becoming a therapist, she spent 5 years facilitating support groups for children and adolescents who were grieving the loss of an immediate family member.
Josey completed her Master's in Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University. She employs an eclectic approach to treatment and draws from various therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of each client.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have a desire to help people.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am excited to work with clients who are interested in being happy but may struggle in that area.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish we knew how strong we all are on the inside and how to cultivate and tap into that strength on a regular and consistent basis.

What inspires you?
I'm inspired by perseverance - continued action, like working on ourselves, despite the difficulties.

In a first session, you can expect me to try and get to know you and allow you to engage in your process.

In a first session, I'd love to accomplish getting to know a little bit about you and your ideas or goals for therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
You should know that my favorite color is purple.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I love to be outdoors - walks, hiking, and working outside on various projects are fun hobbies for me.
