My name is Jerad Ripley, and my journey into social work began by opening my heart and home to individuals with special needs. As a licensed provider, this experience inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Social Work and a career supporting others through life’s challenges. I have worked with teens experiencing substance use, adolescents and adults facing mental health challenges, students in school settings, and young children and their parents. My approach is compassionate and person-centered, creating a safe space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and centered on you. I meet you where you are, validate your experiences, and provide a safe, judgment-free space. Using mindfulness, motivational interviewing, person-centered therapy, and evidence-based approaches, we’ll work together to build insight, coping skills, and meaningful change.
If you’re looking for a safe, supportive space where you can be heard without judgment and feel comfortable being yourself, I invite you to schedule an appointment. Together, we can work through challenges, build on your strengths, and take steps toward meaningful change.

"As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the anxiety of coming out, the fear of rejection, and the pain of trauma and loss, and these experiences have inspired me to help others feel seen, supported, and empowered to live authentically."
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have had my own issues and problems that I worked through and I wanted to be able to assist others as I have been assisted.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are open to collaboration and provide clear feedback to make them more successful.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish that clients knew that the healing process can also bring up more trauma. Not every therapist would be a good fit for them.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect compassion and active listening and validation in the early stages of therapy with me.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
Growing up Catholic, I was taught that being gay was a sin, which shaped my early experiences with fear, judgment, and self-acceptance. Through my own personal journey, I learned to challenge those beliefs, develop healthier ways of coping, and embrace myself with greater compassion and understanding. These experiences inform my work as a person-centered therapist. I recognize that individuals may struggle with fear, shame, selfjudgment, or beliefs that have been placed upon them by others. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, develop coping skills, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and move toward greater self-acceptance and personal growth.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy to each client by meeting them where they are and recognizing that every individual’s needs and experiences are unique. I begin by listening to what the client is seeking and understanding what they hope to gain from therapy. Through open-ended questions, I encourage clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, concerns, and goals so they can identify what they need most. I then work collaboratively with them to provide practical tools, coping strategies, and support that align with their individual needs, strengths, and goals.
