I am a licensed clinical social worker and have worked over 10 years in hospital settings and now 10 years in private practice. Throughout my career, I have worked in inpatient, crisis intervention, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. I have treated people with a variety of mental health diagnoses and/or chemical dependency issues. I am an OCD specialist and a large part of my private practice is devoted to working with anxiety disorders, phobias, and OCD spectrum disorders. I am currently treating teens, adults, and couples.
I use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and supportive therapy. I use exposure and response prevention for OCD and related disorders, phobias, and social anxiety.
I would love to connect with you more to see if you think I may be a good match on your support team. Please contact me if you would like to discuss your treatment needs.

"I love being a social worker and I enjoy working in the field of mental health and addiction services. I believe that anyone could develop a mental health or substance abuse problem, and that all intimate relationships have periods of struggles. It can be challenging to overcome your problems. It is rewarding for me to be a part of assisting people with improving their lives. "
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I have had my own issues with anxiety and depression and wanted to help others with their mental health struggles. I really enjoy helping other people!
What types of clients do you work best with?
I enjoy working with people with a variety of mental health issues, but feel I am best at helping those with OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, and chemical dependency issues.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I believe anyone can suffer from a mental health or substance use problem at some point in their life and that it is possible to improve your quality of life with your motivation and the help of a caring therapist.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session is an intake where I would get to know your history and reason for seeking therapy. I would ask a lot of questions. You would begin to get to know me and trust me. You can ask me questions about things you don't understand about therapy. We would start actively addressing your concerns during the intake and the first few sessions and I may try to connect you to support groups or resources.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
I value honesty and discretion, and will be direct with you about my thoughts of what can be done to help you feel better.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
You are huge part of the process and I value your concerns and input along the journey. Everyone has their own specific issues and we work as a team to come up with a plan to help you.
