About Cristina
Cristina Perera is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) that has been working in private practice for over 15 years, working with an eclectic range of adults and seniors, from trauma survivors of 911 and the Sandy Hook shootings, to everyday families looking for support and expert care. She specializes in treating abuse, trauma, depression, family conflict, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and more.
She earned her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University and has been a Keynote Speaker on behalf of The National Collation for Domestic Violence. Her many years of work with individuals with disabilities have also given her a strong knowledge of helping people on the autism spectrum.

Cristina believes that everyone has individual needs and preferences in therapy, and she works to accommodate as needed.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I was always interested in helping friends and family with advise.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients needing assistance with relationships, marriage, ADHD, and Anxiety.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
Domestic violence victims and survivors, those dealing with infidelity, Anxiety, ADHD, or PTSD.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
To understand and accept who they are and to express needs and preferences in relationships.

What inspires you?
Helping people to believe in themselves and watching people reach their goals and happiness.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Connection, feeling welcomed and feeling comfortable expressing their needs. Not feeling inhibited to be themselves.

Knowing they can be honest with me, asking me about my experience and connecting. Most importantly feeling hopeful and recognizing my commitment to help them.
