Hello! My name is Caroline. I'm a licensed clinical social worker. I typically work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have extensive experience with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I'm skilled in Emotion Focused Family Therapy, helping families build skills to resolve conflict and strengthen trust and connection.

My approach is warm, goal-oriented, direct, and empathetic.  I believe that working together with my clients creates better outcomes. I'm committed to helping you feel safe and supported as we navigate challenges. My focus is on helping you develop practical skills and insights that make a real difference in your relationships and well-being.

Reaching out for therapy can feel intimidating, whether it's your first time or your thirtieth. I provide an empathetic, and straightforward, non-judgmental approach. You're in control and can share at your own pace as we get to know each other. If it feels like the right fit, I invite you to schedule an appointment. I look forward to getting to know you!

"As one who has experienced personal trauma and sought out therapy initially as a child, I have an authentic understanding of how we are impacted by painful life circumstances and how building of new life skills can empower us once again. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

When I was in college, I had a close friend who struggled with their mental health. I found supporting them to be more meaningful to me than anything else. Through this experience, in addition to my own experiences struggling with my mental health growing up, I saw that there is a need for empathic therapists who can provide a genuine, calm, and caring presence when it is needed the most.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are goal oriented and motivated in treatment.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

Therapy is often challenging and can be uncomfortable when someone is "doing the work" and growth is occurring! However, it does get easier. Engaging in this process requires one to be super kind and gracious with oneself.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In a first session I hope to get to know you better. I will invite you to imagine what it would feel like when therapy is no longer needed. Then, we will talk about how to get to that point.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

I provide care that explicitly affirms your racial, cultural, gender, and sexual identity, while actively resisting systemic bias. I practice from an anti-racist, LGBTQ+-affirming lens, actively working to honor your lived experiences and challenge oppressive systems.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

We will formulate your treatment plan based on your individual goals and discuss what you would like to accomplish from our time in therapy sessions.
