About Sharlese
Sharlese Jones been doing therapy for over 15 years, helping various needs. She's a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) that has assisted children, teens and families in learning new skills to manage, anger, depression, anxiety, stress, build confidence, ADHD, mood regulation. self esteem building, transgender issues, couples issues, life skills, parenting, grief, and various other situations.
Sharlese completed her Master's degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling and School Counseling and her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from CSUS Sacramento. She became Licensed as a Marriage Family Therapy and have been working online as a therapist since. She utilize multiple treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy (SFT), and strength-based therapy (SBT).
As a therapist, Sharlese strive to help you connect to your authentic self in order to help you have more for filling experiences on your life journey. Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I became a therapist to help others. I had a life experiences that were difficult and wished I had the support to help me. I wished I had the support of someone objective and relatable to support me on my journey then. I later found in it family, friends, and eventual a mentor who I respect highly that gave me guidance.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Teens, Couples, life skills, anxiety, ADHD, depression, martial concerns, stress management, life skills, parenting, and self esteem/self confidence/self worth.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
All clients. Teens, women, couples, LGBTQIA+, etc.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
They have power for authentic change and growth.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I heard great things about Thriveworks and wanted to see for myself.
What inspires you?
My family. GOD and my ability to support my family.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Genuineness, information gathering, and support.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
Understanding what brought them to therapy and what they expect from therapist.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I'm pretty easy to talk to and relate to, but I will ask for clarity to make sure we're on the same page.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I make body butter, candles, sugar scrub. I'm learning to sew, play video games with my kids, do TikTok dances, like to cook, and watching movies. I'm a Marvel girl, LOL.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I'm a spiritual woman.
