About Alishia
I’m Alishia, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Doctor of Social Work (DSW) student with experience providing mental health services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and across a wide range of life circumstances. My professional experience includes working with individuals navigating mental health concerns, trauma, substance use, life transitions, relationship challenges, and other personal or situational stressors. Clients may come to therapy feeling overwhelmed or uncertain about how to move forward. My goal is to create a space where they feel heard and work collaboratively toward meaningful and lasting change.
I use a compassionate, trauma-informed, and collaborative approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. I help clients build insight, develop healthy coping skills, navigate life’s challenges, and recognize their strengths. You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where your experiences are heard and your goals guide our work together.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to meet you with compassion, understanding, and without judgment. Wherever you are in your journey, your story matters. If you’re ready for support and positive change, I invite you to schedule an appointment and take that next step.

"As a clinician, veteran, mother, and advocate, I believe every person has a story worth understanding, and I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where you can feel heard, respected, and empowered to heal and grow. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a mental health professional because I believe in the power of being heard, understood, and supported during some of life’s most difficult moments. My experiences as a veteran, mother, social worker, and clinician have strengthened my commitment to helping people navigate challenges, heal from difficult experiences, and recognize their own resilience. I chose this profession because I want to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel respected, empowered, and supported in creating meaningful change.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work well with clients from diverse backgrounds and across different stages of life. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, or personal growth. I work best with clients who are looking for a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to feel heard, gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, and work toward meaningful change at their own pace.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that therapy and healing can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Growth doesn’t always happen in a straight line, and facing difficult emotions or experiences can feel uncomfortable at times. However, with patience, honesty, and support, those difficult moments can lead to greater self-understanding, resilience, and meaningful change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we’ll get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and identify the goals that are most important to you. In the early stages, we’ll work together to build trust, understand your unique experiences, and develop an approach that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll move at a pace that supports your needs.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My experiences as a veteran, mother, social worker, and clinician have shaped my belief in resilience, compassion, and the dignity and worth of every person. I value meeting people where they are, listening without judgment, and recognizing the strength within each individual. My traumainformed perspective reminds me that everyone has a story, and I strive to create a safe space where clients feel seen, respected, and empowered to grow.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by first taking time to understand each client’s unique experiences, strengths, culture, needs, and goals. I use a collaborative, trauma-informed approach and draw from evidencebased interventions based on what is most appropriate for each individual. I recognize that there is no one-size-fitsall approach to therapy, so we work together to create a pace and treatment approach that feels supportive, practical, and meaningful.
