About Kiersten
Hi, I'm Kiersten, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I work with individuals throughout the lifespan struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem. My approach is shaped by professional training and lived experiences, grounded in the belief that healing happens when people feel truly seen and accepted. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck. They come to therapy wanting to understand themselves, develop coping skills, heal from the past, and strengthen relationships.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I integrate evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and Sandtray Therapy to meet your unique needs. Our work is guided by your goals and what feels most supportive.
Reaching out for support takes courage, and you don't have to navigate this alone. I'll meet you with compassion and authenticity, genuinely committed to helping you feel seen and supported. I hope to provide a space where you feel accepted and encouraged moving forward. If you feel we may be a good fit, I invite you to schedule an appointment.

"Having navigated my own challenges, I understand the courage it takes to ask for support, and I'm committed to walking alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and hope. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My decision to become a counselor was inspired by my own experiences with growth, healing, and the importance of having compassionate support along the way. Those experiences helped me understand how meaningful it can be to have someone sit with you, listen without judgment, and help you find your way forward. I became a counselor because I want to offer that same sense of safety, understanding, and hope to others as they navigate their own journeys.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I feel especially connected to clients who have spent much of their lives feeling like they have to be strong, hold everything together, or navigate challenges on their own. I enjoy supporting individuals who are ready to explore their stories, heal from painful experiences, and reconnect with themselves in a deeper way.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish every client knew that healing is possible, even when the path feels uncertain. Our past experiences can shape us, but they do not have to define us. With support, self-compassion, and a willingness to explore your story, you can create new ways of understanding yourself and moving forward.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a connection and creating a space where you feel safe to share your story. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to work toward. In the early stages of therapy, we focus on building trust, understanding your unique needs, developing coping tools, and creating a foundation for deeper healing. My approach is collaborative, and we’ll work together to determine what methods feel most supportive for your journey.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My own lived experiences, including my personal journey of healing and the joys and challenges of parenting, have deepened my compassion and strengthened my understanding of the courage it takes to seek support and create change. I value authenticity, curiosity, and connection, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can show up as they are, explore their experiences, and reconnect with their own strengths, resilience, and capacity for healing.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe therapy is most effective when it is personalized to each person’s unique story, needs, and goals. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, challenges, and what you hope to gain from therapy so that we can create an approach that feels supportive and meaningful for you. I integrate a variety of therapeutic methods, adjusting our work based on your comfort level, readiness, and what feels most helpful in the moment.
