About Kathleen
Kathleen (Kathy) Lazarick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has over 40 years of professional experience providing therapeutic care to individuals from diverse backgrounds. She has worked in numerous healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing facilities, dialysis, physician’s practice, mental health, and hospice care where she specialized in counseling individuals and families to cope with trauma, anxiety, depression, family issues, women’s issues, and more.
Kathy earned her Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers and received training from Monmouth University in Clinical Counseling and Supervision Certification. She uses various modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, eye movement desensitization reprocessing, and acceptance & commitment therapy.
Kathy’s compassion, empathy, and organic therapeutic style have often been described as down-to-earth and relaxed. She recognizes that your sessions with her will be productive conversations about possibility and learning. You have already made the first big step: you have sought help to make meaningful life changes.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
My desire to work in Service to others started at a young age, as a child doing chores and errands for the neighborhood elderly. In High School I held leadership positions for the Community Service Corp Youth Activities for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. This lead to a choice of Social Work as a career.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I am most effective with Adults and Elderly. Because of my eclectic and down to earth style, I am able to connect quickly with individuals and establish effective therapeutic rapport
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
It is most rewarding to witness clients conquer their fears, upsets, negative thoughts and behaviors and adopt more effective coping strategies. It is important for the person to find their own voice and learn to thrive in spite of Human frailty.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I recognize that life is a journey, One DAY at a time. I have patience to see you through the ups and downs and to accept that life will throw curve balls/challenges. We all need to embrace that we are perfectly imperfect.

Establish a rapport and set 1 to 3 goals for our work together.

I am a Candid communicator. I will always provide honest feedback and we are creating a dynamic partnership for success.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy outings with my husband, day trips, time with friends; watching Movies together.
