Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
Trying something new and challenging myself lead me to this field unexpectedly. I am grateful in taking those steps because I found my passion. My favorite part in being a therapist is teaching and sharing my intelligence with others.
What types of clients do you work with best?
Clients who are willing, open, and honest and give me the opportunity to offer new ways of thinking and coping creates a productive atmosphere for both of us.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I love working with new therapy beginners, as I want to provide the best orientation to what therapy looks like.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Creating change is a process and a choice that takes time. I like to use the garden analogy in therapy in reference to our brain making changes in planting and growing seeds and taking out weeds.
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
I like the supportive environment Thriveworks has to offer to the team. Feeling valued in the work I do is something that is important to me, and role models to my clients the importance of surrounding ourselves with healthy environments to live happier.
What inspires you?
The strength of individuals’ effort in change and resiliency is inspiring.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
I will explain the therapy process, explore their preferences, review expectations, and create a plan.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
I want them to have an understanding of the beginning phase and to feel welcomed and excited to start therapy.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
I am organized, task-orientated, and structured.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like spending quality time with my husband and family, watching movies, socializing with friends, walking my dog, playing board games, and exploring new restaurants.
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am creative in coming up with ideas, games, and paintings for entertainment and bonding.
