About Provider

About Winter

I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 19 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, and families through anxiety, depression, trauma, and major life transitions. I specialize in relationship concerns, family dynamics, grief and loss, identity exploration, and stress related to life changes, offering compassionate, individualized care across the lifespan.

I earned my master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Harding University. My background includes extensive work in community mental health, school-based services, and private practice. I am a registered play therapist and incorporate trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches to meet each client’s unique needs.

I strive to create a safe, supportive, and confidential space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we will explore challenges, process difficult experiences, and build practical tools for growth and healing. I would be honored to walk alongside you as you take meaningful steps toward lasting change.

Get to know Winter

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My journey toward this career began at age 16, and I’ve remained dedicated to this path ever since. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing the transformation and healing of my clients as they improve their quality of life. I am deeply grateful to the clients I serve and would be honored to walk alongside you toward growth and healing.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I partner with individuals and families navigating the complexities of trauma, depression, anxiety, and the transitions of divorce or grief. My practice also specializes in supporting parents and children as they manage behavioral and emotional challenges. Together, we will develop a tailored growth plan that aligns with your goals and family life.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I believe therapy is a collaborative journey. Together, we’ll define goals that truly resonate with you—from strengthening your relationships to fostering self-esteem and personal growth. As you evolve and gain new perspectives, we’ll refine our approach to ensure it remains a supportive and relevant map toward the life you want to lead.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our initial meeting, we will focus on getting acquainted and exploring your goals for therapy. Building a therapeutic relationship takes time, and we will work through this process together. We’ll move forward at your comfort level, with my steady guidance throughout the journey.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in lived experience. Having navigated the complexities of grief, trauma, and the challenges of parenting, I bring a grounded perspective to our sessions. I also hold a profound understanding of the resilience required when facing cancer, miscarriage, or the unique strain of supporting a loved one through addiction and mental health struggles. These experiences inform my commitment to meeting you with genuine empathy and insight.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I am committed to fostering a supportive, non-judgmental space through clear and open communication. As your empathetic partner, I prioritize active listening and provide dedicated time for you to reflect on your experiences. During challenging moments, you can rely on my steady calm and patience.
