Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I had a unique opportunity in my undergraduate program to work with an adoption agency. In the agency I met women and families that were brought together in a very unique way. Each had their own challenges in life's journey. I was able to help those who were struggling to overcome barriers in their lives. Counseling offered support, guidance, encouragement, and helped individuals and families attain their goals. I went on to get a Master's in Counseling and learned how to help others with their unique challenges in diverse settings and backgrounds. No matter who you are, everyone experiences challenges in our life and sometimes we need a helping hand to support us and provide guidance, until we can stand alone and arrive at our desired destination a stronger and healthier person.
