About Brittany

Hi, I'm Brittany Hall, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a passion for helping individuals navigate life's challenges. I earned my Master's degree in Social Work from Jacksonville State University, where I developed a strong foundation in evidence-based practices and client-centered care. I work with adults and adolescents facing trauma, grief, anxiety, and life transitions—drawing from my own experiences with personal trauma and loss to offer an authentic understanding of how painful circumstances impact us while helping you build skills that foster healing and growth.

My approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based methods, and trauma-informed care to help clients understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors while building practical skills for everyday life. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered—and where the therapeutic relationship itself becomes a source of support and growth.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I’m here to offer a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward at your own pace. When you’re ready, I invite you to take the next step and begin your journey toward healing and growth.

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by five years of experience with DHR, where I saw how impactful therapy can be, as well as my own life experiences that inspired me to help others navigate and overcome challenges.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with preteens, adolescents, and adults who are navigating life transitions, trauma, grief, and anxiety, and who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, and are seeking a supportive space to process their experiences while building practical skills for coping and growth. I especially connect with individuals who value a compassionate, collaborative approach and are open to developing new perspectives, strengthening resilience, and working toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing is not a linear process, and that’s okay. Growth often comes with ups and downs, and progress can look different for everyone—but every step forward, no matter how small, matters. Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you; it’s about creating a safe space to better understand yourself, process your experiences, and build the skills needed to navigate life with greater confidence and resilience.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In the first session, clients can expect a warm, welcoming space where we get to know each other and establish a sense of safety and trust. I’ll ask about your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy, while also answering any questions you may have about the process. In the early stages of therapy, we focus on understanding your experiences, identifying patterns, and exploring what’s most important to you, all while beginning to build practical strategies and coping skills. My goal is to create a collaborative foundation that supports your growth and sets the stage for meaningful, lasting change.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice as a therapist is deeply informed by both my personal experiences and professional background. Having navigated family trauma myself, I bring an authentic understanding of how painful life experiences can shape us, as well as the resilience that comes from working through them. Professionally, my years working at a Children’s Advocacy Center and for DHR allowed me to see firsthand the impact of trauma on children and families, and the powerful role that therapy can play in fostering healing and growth. On a personal level, being a wife and mother has strengthened my empathy, patience, and appreciation for the challenges of balancing multiple roles, which I carry into my work with clients of all ages. These experiences collectively shape my compassionate, collaborative approach, helping me connect with clients in a way that is both grounded and deeply human.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs by first listening closely to understand their experiences, goals, and challenges, creating a safe and collaborative space where they feel heard and respected. I draw from a range of evidencebased approaches—such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based techniques—and adapt them to fit each client’s personality, preferences, and pace. Together, we identify what’s most meaningful and effective for their growth, focusing on practical tools, emotional insight, and strategies that empower them to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and confidence.
