About Amanda
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with over 25 years of experience supporting teens, young adults, adults, couples, and older adults. I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional regulation. Many people I work with are seeking greater clarity, balance, and deeper connection in their lives and relationships.
I earned my master’s degree in social work from Alabama A&M University. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. I integrate evidence-based techniques to help clients build emotional regulation skills, gain insight, and shift unhelpful patterns in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment.
Seeking support takes courage, and you do not have to do it alone. If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or wanting a new perspective, therapy can be a place to feel seen, heard, and supported. I welcome you to take the next step when you are ready and begin your journey toward healing and growth.

"I bring a grounded, compassionate approach to therapy, drawing on my professional experience to help clients feel understood, supported, and empowered as they work toward healing by shifting their perspective and reconnecting with their inner strengths."

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I decided to become a therapist because I’ve always been drawn to understanding people’s stories and helping them navigate challenges with compassion and purpose. As a clinical social worker, I value supporting individuals through meaningful change by helping them gain insight, build resilience, and shift perspectives in ways that improve their well-being and relationships.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with teens, young adults, and adults who are motivated to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes. I’m especially effective with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and life transitions, and those seeking greater emotional regulation, clarity, and healthier patterns in their lives.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that healing isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong,” but about understanding yourself with compassion and patience. Progress often happens gradually, and small, consistent steps—along with a willingness to shift perspective—can lead to meaningful, lasting change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive space where we focus on getting to know one another and understanding what brought them to therapy. We’ll discuss goals, concerns, and what feels most important right now. In the early stages, I prioritize building trust, offering practical tools, and collaboratively developing a plan that supports growth and meaningful progress.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s background, strengths, goals, and challenges. I use a collaborative, flexible approach and draw from evidence-based practices, adjusting the pace, focus, and techniques to meet each client’s needs while offering a different perspective to support insight, growth, and healing.
