I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 4 years of experience providing comprehensive mental health care across the lifespan. I specialize in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy for conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, schizophrenia, conduct disorders, and insomnia. I focus on evidence-based treatment designed to reduce symptoms, improve functioning, and promote lasting emotional well-being in outpatient and telehealth settings.
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from Arkansas State University. My approach combines clinical expertise with empathy to support individuals as they navigate life’s challenges. I tailor each treatment plan through careful evaluation, medication management, and therapy to help clients build resilience, balance, and overall well-being.
I understand the challenges of living with mental health conditions and strive to create a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel heard and supported. Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I chose to become a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I am deeply committed to improving mental health and quality of life for individuals across all ages. Witnessing the profound impact that compassionate, evidence-based care can have inspired me to specialize in psychiatric care. I find fulfillment in helping clients navigate complex challenges, reduce symptoms, and build resilience toward lasting well-being.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work best with clients across the lifespan experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, conduct disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, insomnia, panic attacks, and PTSD. I provide evidence-based, individualized care in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment to help clients manage symptoms and improve their overall well-being.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m most excited to work with clients who are motivated to engage in their mental health journey and seek lasting change. Whether managing mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, or sleep challenges, I’m passionate about supporting individuals ready to build resilience, develop effective coping skills, and improve their overall quality of life through personalized, evidence-based care.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Recovery and growth are possible with the right support, patience, and commitment. Mental health challenges don’t define you, and with compassionate, evidence-based care, you can build resilience and lead a fulfilling, balanced life.

I aim to build rapport and trust while gathering essential information to develop an effective, personalized care plan that addresses their immediate needs and sets the foundation for ongoing treatment.

What do you do for fun/on your time off?
In my time off, I enjoy immersing myself in reading and cherishing moments with my family. These activities provide me with balance, renewal, and perspective, allowing me to bring my best self to my work and those I serve.

One thing that defines me outside of work is my deep commitment to family. I value meaningful connections and prioritize spending quality time with loved ones, which grounds me and brings joy and balance to my life.
Does Obianuju prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
Yes - when clinically appropriate, Obianuju may prescribe both non-stimulant and stimulant medication for the treatment of ADHD.
