Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I believe people deserve to feel heard, understood, and supported through life’s most difficult seasons. As a PMHNP, I combine compassionate, evidencebased psychiatric care with respect for each person’s values, beliefs, and life experiences. My goal is to help clients better understand their symptoms, find hope and stability, and feel empowered to take an active role in their healing and overall well-being.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, stress, or sleep difficulties. I especially enjoy working with clients who want to better understand what they are experiencing and take an active role in their treatment. My approach is collaborative and supportive, combining thoughtful medication management, education, and individualized care to help clients achieve greater stability, confidence, and overall well-being.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, stress, or sleep difficulties. I especially enjoy working with clients who want to better understand what they are experiencing and take an active role in their treatment. My approach is collaborative and supportive, combining thoughtful medication management, education, and individualized care to help clients achieve greater stability, confidence, and overall well-being.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free conversation focused on understanding you as a whole person—not just your symptoms or diagnosis. We will discuss your current concerns, mental health and medical history, medications, sleep, stressors, relationships, and treatment goals. Together, we will develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, education, supportive therapy, healthy coping strategies, and lifestyle recommendations. In the early stages of treatment, we will monitor your progress, discuss how you are responding to treatment, make adjustments when needed, and work together toward greater stability and improved quality of life. My goal is for you to feel heard, informed, respected, and actively involved in every decision about your care.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, respect, integrity, and the belief that every person deserves to be heard without judgment. My experiences in healthcare have taught me that mental health is influenced by much more than a diagnosis—it is shaped by our relationships, culture, life experiences, physical health, environment, and personal beliefs. I value meeting each client where they are and creating a treatment plan that respects their individual needs and goals. When meaningful to the client, I also welcome faith and spirituality as sources of strength and hope. Above all, I strive to provide care that helps people feel respected, supported, and empowered in their journey toward greater emotional well-being.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I believe mental health care should never be one-sizefits-all. I take time to understand each client’s symptoms, medical and mental health history, life experiences, relationships, culture, personal values, strengths, and treatment goals. From there, we work together to create an individualized plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, education, coping strategies, lifestyle changes, or coordination with other healthcare professionals. I regularly reassess progress and adjust treatment as needed. Most importantly, I want clients to have a voice in their care and feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and making informed decisions about their treatment.
