About Anita

I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, ADHD, and more.  I believe that healing begins with being heard, understood, and respected without judgement.  My approach combines evidence-based medication management, with a holistic, person-centered perspective that honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit.  Together, we'll create a treatment plan that helps you build resilience, restore balance, and achieve meaningful, lasting wellness.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic.  I use evidence-based medication management while encouraging healthy lifestyle habits and emotional wellness.  I create a safe, judgment-free space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful progress toward healing and balance.

Reaching out for help is a courageous first step, and you don't have to face life's challenges alone.  I am committed to providing a supportive, judgement-free environment where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered.  When you're ready, I look forward to partnering with you on you journey toward healing, hope, and lasting well-being.

Get to know Anita

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?

I was a Social Worker for 18 years prior to becoming a Nurse, and then advanced my nursing career. Becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner has given me the best of both worlds. It is the perfect combination of the two careers that I have grown to love.

What types of clients do you work best with?

I work best with clients who are ready to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing and willing to take the next steps needed to achieve lasting recovery and well-being.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?

I wish all clients knew that mental health is just as important as physical health. Your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences all matter. Healing is a journey, and with the right support, meaningful change is possible.

What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?

In our first session, you can expect a safe, welcoming, and judgement-free space where we begin to understand your story, your concerns, and what you hope to achieve through this treatment. We will discuss your mental health history, current challenges, strengths, and goals while beginning to develop a personalized plan for you care. The early stages of treatment are about building trust, gaining insight, and learning practical tools to support healing and positive change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?

My practice is guided by the values of compassion, respect, authenticity , and the belief that every person deserves to be heard and understood. My experiences as a social worker, nurse, and healthcare provider have shown me the importance of caring for the whole person; not just treating symptoms, but understanding each individual's story, strengths, challenges, and goals.

How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?

I tailor therapy/ treatment to meet each client's unique needs by understanding their story, strengths, challenges, and goals. I believe that healing happens through connection, trust, and a collaborative approach where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their mental health journey.
