About Veronica
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with nearly 20 years of experience in psychiatry, including inpatient, outpatient, and substance use treatment settings. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, and substance use challenges. Many of my clients are seeking support with emotional balance, stress management, recovery, and daily functioning. My goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout your mental health journey.
My approach is collaborative and evidence-based, drawing on CBT and supportive therapy to help clients build insight, develop coping skills, and work toward emotional wellness. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and co-occurring disorders, and I strive to create a nonjudgmental space focused on healing, growth, and practical solutions.
Healing begins with feeling heard and understood. Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to face it alone. I'm committed to providing a safe, compassionate space where you can grow, heal, and regain balance. I encourage you to take that next step toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

"I bring a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to mental health care, drawing from my years of psychiatric experience to help clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their healing journey. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I have always felt called to support people during some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. I believe mental health care can bring hope, healing, and stability, and I wanted to be part of that process. My goal is to help clients feel heard, respected, and empowered as they work toward wellness.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with children ages 12 and older, teenagers, and adults who are seeking support for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, substance use, mood disorders, and life transitions. I enjoy helping clients who are motivated to better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, and make meaningful changes toward emotional wellness and stability.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish all clients knew that healing is a process, not a race. Seeking help is a sign of strength, and meaningful progress often happens through small, consistent steps. Therapy and mental health treatment provide a safe space to be heard without judgment while building the tools needed for growth, resilience, and lasting change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where they feel comfortable sharing their concerns at their own pace. During the first session, I focus on getting to know the client, understanding their symptoms, stressors, goals, and personal history, while also discussing treatment options collaboratively. In the early stages of therapy, clients can expect guidance, education, practical coping strategies, and a personalized approach focused on building trust, stability, and progress toward their goals.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, empathy, respect, and the belief that every person deserves to feel heard and supported without judgment. My years of experience in psychiatry and working with individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges have strengthened my commitment to providing culturally sensitive, patient-centered care. I value building genuine therapeutic relationships that promote trust, resilience, healing, and personal growth.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor therapy by taking time to understand each client’s background, experiences, strengths, culture, and personal goals. I recognize that every individual responds differently to treatment, so I adapt my approach using evidence-based methods such as CBT, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and medication management when appropriate. My goal is to create an individualized treatment plan that supports each client’s unique path toward healing and emotional wellness.
