Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
I am a strong advocate for those with psychiatric issues and want to participate in de-stigmatizing having any type of emotional health issue. The need for quality mental health is so important in this country and I want to be a part of providing that quality care.
What types of clients do you work with best?
I work well with a variety of clients and am skilled in building rapport in ensure a productive and honest working relationship.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
That whatever you feel or experience is not tied to your self-worth. There is a huge stigma about mental health issues being a sign of weakness and that is simply not true. Chances are there are more people out there dealing with similar issues than you know. I will work with you to achieve the best outcomes for you.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Clients can expect a warm, non-judgmental atmosphere in which they will be listened to and affirmed. There will be many questions and a bidirectional exchange of information. Things may feel a bit artificial or awkward in the beginning as we are getting to know each other and establishing rapport, which is completely normal.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I like to watch movies and musicals with my husband. We also have two dogs that we enjoy spending time with. I also enjoy watching sports and reading.
