About Shannon
I am a doctorate-prepared, dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I bring over 7 years of experience in mental health and more than 25 years in nursing, working across a variety of specialties in New York. I enjoy working with individuals 16 and older who are navigating challenges with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and substance use. My approach includes supportive therapy, medication management, and referrals when needed.
I earned my Doctorate in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati. My focus is on tailoring evidence-based treatment plans that emphasize resilience, balance, and lasting wellness. I specialize in combining medication management with supportive therapy to create a safe and collaborative space for clients.
Taking the first step toward care can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. I provide a supportive and judgment-free space where your story matters. When you are ready, I welcome you to begin this process with me. Together, we will work toward building the tools and confidence to achieve mental wellness.

"I see each person as more than a diagnosis, and my goal is to help you feel empowered in your journey toward balance and mental wellness."
Get to know Shannon
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I initially started as a primary care provider and saw that people were not physically well. They were not able to properly engage in their medical care because they were not mentally well. I went back to school to specialize in mental health so I can bridge the gap.
What types of clients do you work best with?
BIPOC, LGBTQ, first responders, overwhelmed moms, business executives
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
Healing can ebb and flow because it's a journey, and needing support along the way is a sign of strength.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
The first session will be a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and may not initially include the start of medication.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, respect, and collaboration, where clients feel heard. I meet people where they are and respect their individual strengths and struggles. It is rewarding to witness how clients can transform during tough times with the right support.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
Therapy is unique and individualized. It's tailored to whatever challenges the client may be dealing with.
