Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner because I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported during life's most difficult moments. I am passionate about helping people find hope, build resilience, and discover that healing and meaningful change are possible.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with adolescents and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, stress, grief, and major life transitions.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
One thing I wish every client knew is that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Healing isn't about being "fixed", it's about learning to understanding yourself with compassion, building resilience, and taking meaningful steps toward the life you want.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
During our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other, discuss what brought you to treatment, explore your personal history, and identify your goals. My priority is to create a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. In the early stages of treatment, we will work together to develop a personalized plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, practical coping strategies, and measurable goals to help you begin feeling better and making meaningful progress.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My approach is shaped by both my professional experience and my appreciation that life's challenges can profoundly impact mental health. These experiences have deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, traumainformed care. I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered to move toward healing and lasting change.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I recognize that every client is unique, so I tailor treatment to each person's individual needs, strengths, values, and goals.
