Get to know Marissa

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?

I always knew I wanted to work in the healthcare field, I just wasn't sure in which capacity. After pursuing a nursing degree due to its wide range of specialties, I got my first job working on an inpatient psychiatric floor and never looked back. After working with many nurse practitioners over the years and seeing their job duties, compassion and knowledge, I realized that becoming a PMHNP was the path for me.

What inspires you?

I'm inspired by seeing patients thrive and achieve their optimal level of functioning when they receive high quality, compassionate psychiatric care.

What can clients expect in their first session with you?

Rapport building in the first session is key as is understanding and establishing goals for both patient and provider.
