About Enel
Enel Joseph is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who assists adolescents, young adults, and older adults in handling mental health problems and improving their mental wellness. Enel’s ability to communicate fluently in English, Creole, and French and his 12 years of service in diverse settings, uniquely position him to serve the psychiatric needs of different kinds of clients. His ideal client is a person struggling with a mental health problem who has yet to come to terms with the condition.
Enel developed a passion for psychiatric nursing after working in a forensic psychiatric unit. His passion led him to complete his master’s degree at Regis College and become a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner.
Enel’s superpower is his capacity to treat each client as a unique individual. By approaching each case uniquely, he can objectively analyze the causative factors without the baggage of preconceptions that may muddy the assessment. As a PMHNP, Enel is concerned with the mental health and wellbeing of his clients.

Why did you decide to become a psychiatric provider?
I was working as a nurse supervisor in psychiatric hospital where I used to be part of the decisions including choice of medications. Sometimes I used to be the one putting the orders and sent them to the MD for signature. It appeared that I was doing the job without the title and I decided to go back to school to complete the NP program.
What types of clients do you work with best?
From my experience, I have been working will all types of clients and I have learned from each of them.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I haven't limited myself to a specific type of client. I want to feel comfortable working with all types of patients.
What’s one thing you wish all clients knew?
I wish all clients knew when they are in a critical stage of their sickness to call for help.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
In my first session I would to accomplish a thorough mental health examination in order to gather the most information possible for treatment purposes.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first counseling session?
I would like the clients to known about my background as a former nurse supervisor at the Bridgewater State Hospital and former charge nurse at the Newton Wellesley hospital psych unit. I have been exposed to all types of diagnosis and was able to provide the best quality of care to my clients.
What do you do for fun in your time off?
I am a sports person.
What’s one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
I am a very disciplined, reliable, respectful, and teamwork person.
Does Enel prescribe medications effective for the treatment of ADHD?
Yes - when clinically appropriate, Enel may prescribe both non-stimulant (all ages) and stimulant (adults only) medication for the treatment of ADHD.
