About Jechell
I am Jechell LaryWaller, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 30 years of psychiatric experience. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care for adults and young adults facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, mood concerns, stress, and substance use concerns. My clients often seek stability, clarity, and a realistic plan to feel better and function well in daily life.
My approach is practical, structured, and collaborative. I use evidence-based psychiatric care, medication management, and treatment planning to help clients understand their symptoms. Clients can expect honest communication, thoughtful prescribing when appropriate, and support focused on improving mood, reducing anxiety, and strengthening coping skills.
You do not have to navigate this alone. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or ready for change, I will meet you with respect, honesty, and a clear plan. When you are ready, I invite you to schedule an appointment and take the next step toward feeling more stable, supported, and in control.

"I bring over 30 years of psychiatric experience and a practical, steady approach to helping people feel heard, regain stability, and take the next step forward in their care. "

Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
I became a psychiatric provider because I have spent many years caring for people during some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. My background in psychiatric nursing showed me how much steady support, careful listening, and the right treatment plan can help people regain stability and improve their quality of life.
What types of clients do you work best with?
I work best with clients who are seeking practical, supportive care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, mood concerns, stress, and life transitions. I also work well with clients who want clear communication, medication guidance when appropriate, and a treatment plan that feels realistic for their daily life.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew about therapy, mental health, or the healing process?
I wish clients knew that healing does not have to happen all at once. Progress often comes through small, steady steps, honest conversations, and finding the right support. Asking for help is not weakness. It is often the first sign that someone is ready for change.
What can clients expect in their first session with you and in the early stages of therapy?
In the first session, clients can expect a supportive and judgment-free conversation focused on understanding their concerns, symptoms, goals, and personal history. Together, we will discuss what has been working, what has been challenging, and what they hope to gain from treatment. In the early stages of care, I focus on building a clear understanding of each client's needs, developing a personalized treatment plan, and helping them take practical steps toward improved mental health and daily functioning.
What personal experiences or values inform your practice as a therapist/provider?
My practice is guided by compassion, respect, honesty, and the belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity. Over more than 30 years working in psychiatric care, I have learned that people are often carrying challenges that are not visible to others. Those experiences have reinforced the importance of listening without judgment, meeting people where they are, and helping them build on their strengths as they work toward their goals.
How do you tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs?
I tailor treatment by taking time to understand each client's symptoms, goals, life circumstances, strengths, and preferences. No two people have the same experiences, so I work collaboratively with clients to develop an individualized plan that may include medication management, coping strategies, education, and therapeutic support. My goal is to provide care that is practical, personalized, and aligned with what matters most to each client.
